Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi reviewed the exhibition and programs at the Mahila Samriddhi Sammelan. They praised the innovative initiatives being undertaken by the Chhattisgarh government for women’s empowerment and overall development. An exhibition featuring 11 departments was set up at Jayanti Stadium in Bhilai Nagar, Durg. During the exhibition, Mrs. Gandhi also boosted the enthusiasm of women by participating in a traditional dance known as “Sua Nritya” with them.
During the departmental exhibition at Jayanti Stadium, Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi praised the Hat-Bazar Clinic and Suposhan Abhiyan being implemented in rural areas of Chhattisgarh. She commended the Hat-Bazar Clinic scheme, stating that it is a commendable initiative by the Chhattisgarh government to prevent diseases from the initial stages. Similarly, she also appreciated the Chief Minister’s Suposhan Abhiyan. She mentioned that the government is consistently working towards making Chhattisgarh free from malnutrition, and through better and effective implementation of schemes at the grassroots level, malnutrition is decreasing.
Mrs. Gandhi also praised innovative schemes in Chhattisgarh aimed at providing new employment opportunities for women, such as the C-Mart and Godhan Nyay Yojana. The exhibition showcased various initiatives aimed at boosting the rural economy, including the Godhan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park, C-Mart, and other important schemes like Hamar Lab, Dai-Didi Clinic, Swami Atmanand School, Dhanvantari Generic Medical Stores, and stalls related to Chhattisgarhi culture and the Chhattisgarh Olympics. These schemes and initiatives are designed to uplift the rural economy and provide employment opportunities to women in Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi conversed with women at Dannex and B.P.O. stalls. Participants at the Dannex stall provided detailed information about garments manufactured by the company. Women working at B.P.O. informed that its Khursipar unit is made with a significant investment of Rs. 10 crores and it has proven instrumental in providing employment to a number of women. B.P.O. (Business Process Outsourcing) is started with a unique approach to provide youth access to job opportunities all around the world while living in their city. B.P.O. not only creates job opportunities but also plays a pivotal role in empowering women.
At the stall of the Godhan Nyay Yojana, Mrs. Gandhi discussed the benefits of Pashu palan, RIPA, and the Godhan Nyay Yojana. Women explained that through RIPA, new opportunities for entrepreneurship have emerged, and cottage and small-scale industries in rural areas are thriving. With the Godhan Nyay Yojana, there has been a boost in animal husbandry, and a large number of women are finding employment in the production of Vermi compost from cow dung. Women also provided information about various other government schemes such as the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Yojana, Samriddhi Yojana, and Poshan Badi, and discussed the government’s efforts to combat malnutrition.These discussions highlight the significant efforts being made by the state government to empower women and promote rural development through various innovative schemes and initiatives.
“C-Mart was praised”
Women informed Mrs. Gandhi about C-Mart, which has been established to sell products produced by self-help groups. They told her that Chhattisgarh’s unique products are available here, ranging from organic rice from Dantewada to tea from Jashpur. Mrs. Gandhi expressed her happiness over this and mentioned that marketing local products in this way is ensuring economic prosperity for women.During her visit to the Millet Cafe, women explained various dishes prepared from millets, such as Kodu, Kutki, Ragi, along with traditional dishes. These nutritious dishes are gaining popularity rapidly. Mrs. Gandhi also visited stalls like Hamar Lab and Hat Bazar Clinic. Hamar Lab offers 55 tests free of cost, including many tests that are usually available only in Urban areas. This saves both time and money. Mrs. Gandhi praised the state government’s initiative in this regard.
Priyanka Gandhi participated in the Sua Nacha.
Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi couldn’t resist joining in the traditional Sua Nacha performed by women at Jayanti Stadium in Chhattisgarh. When she saw the women performing the Sua Nacha, she enthusiastically joined them in the dance. Mrs. Gandhi’s presence further boosted the enthusiasm of the women, and they even took selfies with her. It’s worth noting that Sua Nacha is highly popular in Chhattisgarh. Around the time of Diwali, women perform this dance by placing a Sua, a clay parrot, in a basket. Through this dance, they share their joys and sorrows, express themselves through their voices, and also shed light on the society of their time. The dance, performed in green attire resembling parrots, is very captivating.
Mrs. Gandhi smiled upon hearing about her participation in the “Bhaura”
Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi enthusiastically played the “Bhaura” (Indian spinning top) along with the women during her participation in the Mahila Samriddhi Sammelan. Seeing her playing the “Bhaura,” women joined in celebration. During his address, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel mentioned, “When Priyanka didi played Bhaura , I initially thought she might struggle to play with it. However, she performed exceptionally well, and I was pleasantly surprised.” In response to this, Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi gave a warm smile.
