Chief Minister Mr. Baghel prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state after performing customary rituals at Mata Chandi temple
Raipur, 30 September 2022 / Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today paid visit to Mata Chandi temple and performed customary rituals there. He prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state at Mata Chandi temple in village Indori, falling under Pandariya assembly constituency of Kabeerdham district. During the visit, he presented ‘shreephal’ (coconut) and shawl to Panda Shri Mohan Giri Goswami and Pujari Shri Kanhaiya Prasad Mishra. At the temple premises, women and children welcomed Chief Minister Mr. Baghel by applying tilak on his forehead. The members of the temple committee felicitated Chief Minister and presented him a picture of ‘Matarani’. On this occasion, Chief Minister extended his greetings and best wishes of Navratri festival to the people. Cabinet Minister and Kawardha MLA Shri Mohammad Akbar and Pandariya MLA Mrs. Mamta Chandrakar were also present on this occasion.
The priest of the temple, Shri Mishra has told that this is an ancient temple. He is serving Mata Rani in Mata Chandi temple for 50 years. He told that Mata Chandi originated from the root of Peepal tree on the bank of ancient pond. After which the temple was built by the villagers there and Mata Chandi was established by law. According to the belief, during diseases like epidemic, Mata Rani herself roams in the village and protects the villagers. People from far and wide come here to have darshan of Mata Chandi on the Ashtami day of Navratri festival. Whatever wishes are asked by the devotees here, they are definitely fulfilled.
