Raipur, March 29, 2022 / Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday said with the announcement of restoration of old pension scheme, I have witnessed how life changes with a single decision. The government officials and employees will live a worry-free life while their family will also get financial support. Our government is working continuously for the development of every section of the society.

Mr. Baghel was addressing the honoring ceremony organized under the joint aegis of teachers’ cadre and Panchayat Secretaries Association at Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Raipur. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced to constitute a committee at Chief Secretary Level on the demand related to regularization of Panchayat Secretaries.

As many as 12 unions of teachers’ cadre and Panchayat Secretary honored Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a programme organized at Indoor Stadium today on the restoration of the old pension scheme. Thousands of teachers and Panchayat secretaries gathered from across the state and expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for this decision.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that our government is always ready to take every possible step in the interest of the employees. Regularization of about 15,000 teachers has been done in the state for the first time after 1998. Now they no longer will be hailed as contractual workers or ‘Shikshakarmis’. They will also get all the respect they deserve.

Mr. Baghel said that teachers, Panchayat secretaries, police personnel, sanitation workers and health workers along with other officials and employees concerned, have played a crucial role in saving the lives of people even during the challenging Covid-19 times without caring for their lives. Expressing gratitude to the officers and employees for their cooperation during the Corona period, he said that we all need to work together in future as well for the progress and development of the state.

Mentioning that every person wants his/her children to study in English medium and excellent schools, Chief Minister said that our government understood the plight of the poor, downtrodden and low income groups and made efforts to open 172 Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools in the state. Now the government has also decided to open 32 Hindi medium schools as well on the lines of Swami Atmanand English Medium Schools.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that soon after our government came into power in Chhattisgarh, we fulfilled our promise of waiving farmers’ loan. We have also undertaken steps to ensure that farmers get fair price for their produce in the form of input subsidy along with the support price. He also gave detailed information about the benefits of four symbols of Chhattisgarh namely Narva, Garuwa, Ghurva, Bari. Mr. Baghel said that ration cards have been of people belonging to lower as well as upper class. All the families are eligible for 35 kg rice every month. During the Corona pandemic period, we have done the work of giving rice free-of-cost for 11 months to the poor and underprivileged.

While addressing the program, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Chandradev Rai said that Chhattisgarh Government is continuously taking decisions in the interest of farmers, employees, poor, tribals, workers and working-class. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the state government has started new recruitment on the post of teachers which was declared as ‘dying cadre’ in 1995, ending the dark chapter of the education world. After the regularization of education workers, now the government is now going to give them the benefit of old pension scheme.
