3923 health and wellness centers established in the state
2657 community health officers are providing health-related services
Consultation and diagnosis are also being done through telemedicine service.

Health and Wellness Centres established all over the state are providing 12 different kinds of health-related services to people. These centers offer prenatal care and check-ups and delivery, newborn health immunization, family planning, and reproductive health awareness, national health programs, screening and diagnosis of communicable and non-communicable diseases, mental health screening and diagnosis,out-patient care and diagnosis for various diseases, general eye-nose-ear-throat care, oral health care, senior citizens related health care services and emergency medical facilities are being provided.To manage the continuity and ease of health services, 3923 health and wellness centers have been established across the state with 2657 Community Health Officers (CHOs) who have been appointed in these centers to provide various health services to the people. Health and wellness centers also have arrangements for consultation, diagnosis and treatment of serious diseases by specialist doctors through telemedicine services. Advice and guidance for public welfare are also being provided to achieve better health and to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Yoga, Zumba, regional sports, and other activities are also being conducted regularly to keep people fit and spread health awareness.
All sub-health centres and primary health centres will be upgraded as health and wellness centres
Dr. Surendra Pambhoi, Joint Director, Health and Wellness Center of Health Department said that at present, the services of specialists and doctors are being taken through telemedicine to provide expert-level health facilities and consultation in 2415 health and wellness centers of the state. In the current financial year 2021-22 till the month of February, more than one lakh 36 thousand patients have been examined by specialist doctors and doctors of the Health and Wellness Centres. He said that in order to strengthen the primary health services and referral services in the state, in the coming financial year 2022-23, all the sub-health centers, primary health centers and urban primary health centers would be upgraded as health and wellness centers.
