- As a result of efficient financial management during COVID crisis, budget for revenue surplus has been presented in Chhattisgarh. This has happened in the state after a long time. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, State Government’s public welfare schemes for villages, poor, farmers, forest dwellers and labourers have improved the economic condition of these sections. Resultantly, there has been a tremendous boom in all the sectors of the state despite the worldwide recession. According to the Economic Survey, there has been an increase of 11.54 percent in GSDP this year, as compared to 2020-21.
- Per Capita Income has increased by 11.93 percent.
- The state has registered a growth of 3.88 percent in agriculture, 15.44 percent in industrial sector and 8.54 percent in service sector.
- Chhattisgarh is at par with national growth rate of agriculture sector. Likewise, growth rate of Chhattisgarh in industrial sector is 3.64 percent more than the national level.
- State’s GDP is 13.60 percent higher in this financial year than last year.
- As a result of State Government’s continuous efforts, State’s revenue collection has increased by 27 percent while the revenue received from the Centre has increased by 1 percent.
- This year, budget for social sector as well as infrastructure has been increased.
- Concessions providing by Chhattisgarh Government in the new industrial policy has promoted the establishment of small industrial units in the state. Resultantly, the steel manufacturing sector in the state has increased by 13.40 percent as compared to the national level.
- Resuming the implementation of old pension scheme for about three lakh government employees would not only provide them socio-economic security but will also attract more youth towards public services.
- Youth of the state have been exempted from the examination fee for exams of Vyapam and PSC.
- As per the vision of MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the amount of financial aid under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana has been increased from Rs.6 thousand to Rs.7 thousand.
- Gauthans will be developed as Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park. A provision of Rs 600 crore has been for the same.
- The amount of MLA fund has been increased from Rs 2 crores to Rs 4 crores.
- In this year’s budget, the fiscal deficit is 3.30 percent which is 1.91 percent less than the year 2019-20, mainly because Chhattisgarh government has continuously reduced the pressure of loans and kept all its promises to the public, farmers, forest dwellers.
- Interests of all the sections of the society has been taken into consideration in this year’s budget. Last year, provision of Rs 762 crore was made for poor families under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This year, Rs 800 crore has been provisioned for this purpose.
- Similarly, under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), a provision of Rs 1,675 crore has been made for construction of 900 km of roads, 24 major bridges and 47 steel bridges in the Naxal-affected districts of the state such as Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada.
- Actual irrigation capacity of the state has expanded to 2 lakh 68 thousand hectare area in just 3 years. A budget provision of more than 3 thousand crores has been made for this purpose.
- There has been a significant increase in the revenue of the state through collection of commercial, mineral, registration and electricity duty.
- Chhattisgarh Rozgar Mission has been started in the state to connect youth with employment and self-employment. Under this Mission, a target has been set to create 12 to 15 lakh employment opportunities in the coming five years. A provision of Rs 2 crore has been made in the budget for the launch of the mission.
- Input subsidy is being given to farmers taking kharif, horticulture, plantation and Kodo-Kutki, Ragi crops under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. A provision of Rs 6000 crore has been made under this scheme for the coming financial year.
- A target has been set to provide pure drinking water to 48 lakh 60 thousand families of the state through domestic tap connections. Hence, a provision of Rs 1000 crore has been made for Jal Jeevan Mission in the budget.
- A provision of Rs. 1600 crore has been made to the Panchayats for rural development.
