Chief Minister inaugurates Lakshman Jhula in Rajim

Lakshman Jhula will enhance the grandeur of Rajim Maghi Punni Mela : tourists will get better transportation facilities

Lakshman Jhula has been constructed at a cost of Rs 33.12 crore

Raipur, 01 March 2022 / Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today dedicated the newly constructed Lakshman jhula (Suspension Bridge) at Rajim to the general public. This bridge, built near Triveni Sangam, will connect Rajim’s Rajiv Lochan Temple to Kuleshwar Mahadev Temple and Lomash Rishi Ashram. Chief Minister Shri Baghel congratulated the people of the region, while dedicating this much-awaited Lakshman jhula, built at a cost of Rs 33.12 crore. He said that Lakshman jhula would provide more grandeur to Rajim Punni Mela. It will provide convenience to the tourists and devotees coming here.

It is noteworthy that tourists had to cross the river on foot to reach Kuleshwar Mahadev Temple from Rajiv Lochan Temple or from Lomash Rishi Ashram to Kuleshwarnath Mahadev Temple, which was extremely risky during rainy days. This bridge built on Mahanadi has an attractive architecture, with modern and well equipped lighting system for illumination, due to which the movement of tourists can be done easily even at night. This suspension bridge built at the Rajim Sangam site will attract tourists from outside the state. Fame of this mythical place will spread far and wide and the number of tourists will also increase. The width of this suspension bridge is 3.25 meters and it’s length is 610 meters. On this occasion, Tourism Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu, MLA Rajim Shri Amitesh Shukla, MLA of Abhanpur Shri Dhanendra Sahu were present along with many public representatives and senior administrative officers.
