Ration cards to be issued regularly within the time frame
District collectors will regularly review pending applications of ration card
It is mandatory to do eligibility check and physical verification of applicants within 15 days
Raipur, January 10, 2022 / During a review meeting of Food Department, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had given strict instructions to the departmental officers to issue new ration cards regularly to the eligible families and applicants. In the meeting, the Chief Minister had instructed the departmental officials to ensure strict compliance of Chhattisgarh Food and Nutritional Security Act 2012 and Chhattisgarh Ration Card Rules 2016 in all the districts and to continue the process of making new ration cards continuously. In compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Food Department has given detailed guidelines regarding issuance of new ration cards to all the collectors today.
According to the instructions issued by the Food Department, the collectors have been asked to review pending applications at the district level for making ration cards on regular basis. Instructions have been given to the collectors to ensure the process of eligibility check and physical verification of pending applications within 15 days. It has also been asked to mandatorily make available ration cards to the applicants after completing the necessary procedures according to the time-limit prescribed in the Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011. Regarding the disposal of applications received for making ration cards, instructions have been given to take special care that there should be no unnecessary delay in disposal of applications and beneficiaries should get ration cards within the time limit.
