The ideals of Maa Karma inspire us to be united, organised and empowered – Chief Minister Shri Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday attended the state-level Bhakt Mata Karma Jayanti Mahotsav 2026 in Surajpur.
He paid tribute to the idol of Bhakt Maa Karma with floral offerings and prayed for the well-being, prosperity, and happiness of the people of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Shri Sai also visited Bhakt Maa Karma Chowk on Surajpur Ring Road, performed rituals and sought the blessings of Maa Karma.
“Maa Karma’s life exemplifies sacrifice, service, and dedication, sending a message of unity and positive progress for society,” said Shri Sai.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai praised the Sahu community as a proud, cultured, and development-oriented society. He said great personalities like Bhakt Maa Karma, Mata Rajim Dai, and philanthropist Bhamashah are invaluable legacies of this community. Shri Sai added that the Sahu community has always played a key role in Chhattisgarh’s development and will continue to contribute to taking the state to new heights.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to tackling Naxalism, Chief Minister Shri Sai said Bastar, long affected by Naxal violence, is now rapidly integrating into the mainstream of development. With expanded roads, electricity, education, and healthcare, more than 400 villages have been brought into the development fold, and the region is set to achieve new milestones.
Referring to global developments, Shri Sai said that despite the ongoing war and energy crisis in West Asia, India remains in a strong position under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He appealed to citizens to avoid rumours and maintain trust in the administration.
Highlighting his government’s achievements, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that promises of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi are being implemented with priority in Chhattisgarh. He noted that before Holi, over 25 lakh farmers received more than Rs 10,000 crore as outstanding payments, while the Mahtari Vandan scheme has provided over Rs 16,000 crore to nearly 70 lakh women. Landless agricultural labourers also received Rs 10,000 each, strengthening their livelihoods. Shri Sai added that thousands of devotees are being given opportunities for pilgrimage through the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan and Chief Minister Tirth Yatra schemes.
On the occasion, Shri Sai announced Rs 50 lakh for constructing a social hall and Rs 25 lakh for a boundary wall for the Sahu community, emphasising that this support will strengthen organisational empowerment and community development.
Union State Minister Shri Tokhan Sahu, in his address, said the Sahu community has a proud history and has brought honour to the state and nation through hard work and dedication. He stressed that education, organisation, and social discipline are essential for building a strong and self-reliant society.
The programme was attended by Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal, Women & Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, along with several other elected representatives and dignitaries.
