The Newly-Announced Budget is aimed at all-round inclusive development of the country: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai

Not only the Economic Progress will be Expedited, But Plethora of Employment Opportunities will also be created in the country

Empowerment of poor, women, youth and farmers is the basis of this new budget

Raipur, 01 February 2024/ Remarking on the Central Government’s interim budget for year 2024-25 presented today in the Parliament, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has called for a ‘Developed India’ by the year 2047. This budget will prove to be a milestone in realizing this call.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the budget presented by Finance Minister Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman today focuses on the empowerment of the poor, women, youth and farmers. Central Government has paved the way for all-round inclusive development of the country in these 10 years. In the last 10 years, as many as 25 crore people have been successfully brought out of poverty. Nearly one crore 40 lakh youth have been provided training in employment-oriented works. Signifying the economic progress of people during this period, the average real income of Indians has increased by 50 percent in these years.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this budget would play a crucial role in realization of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s guarantees to people of the country. This budget will strengthen economy of the nation and promote inclusive development of the country, besides providing better employment opportunities to the youth.

He said that the budget includes special initiatives for special backward tribes. Besides expediting the infrastructure development in the country, this newly-announced budget will contribute towards ensuring social justice, boosting the income of villagers and in development every section of society. There has been no change in the rates of direct and indirect taxes and import duty in the budget. A provision of interest-free loan of Rs 75,000 crore has been made in this budget for the development of states. The target for Lakhpati Didi Yojana has been increased. Earlier there was a target of making two crore ‘Lakhpati Didis’ and now this target has been increased to 3 crores. It is an important step towards women empowerment.

As a result of effective government policies, there has been a significant increase in foreign investments. The decision to provide tax exemption to startups for one year will promote entrepreneurship among youth.

The budget includes provision of free electricity of up to 300 units for 1 crore solar panel users under the rooftop solar project. In addition to the special housing scheme for middle class families living in rented houses, slums and chawls, target of building two crore new houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the next 5 years has been set. In the budget, provisions have been made to include all Asha and Anganbadi workers under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat scheme and to promote the use of Nano-DAP in various crops. Vaccination of girls aged 9-14 years will now be started to prevent cervical cancer.

Chief Minister said that a provision has been made in the budget to expand Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. This will provide employment to 55 lakh people. Similarly, provision for setting up 5 integrated aqua parks has also been made in the interim budget. The Center has set a target of doubling the number of airports in the next 10 years. Presently, Raipur, Jagdalpur and Bilaspur cities of Chhattisgarh have airports. Soon, the state will get more airports in various locations.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this budget of Central Government lives up to the motto of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”. Also, the budget is an initiative towards achieving the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047. Keeping in mind all sections of the society, schemes for the welfare of the middle class and the poor have been included in the budget, which makes it commendable.
