Raipur, 04 March 2023/ Women’s economic progress can be seen in the Mahila Madai. Women’s groups from all over the state have brought their goods for sale here. Among these, the famous Kosa of Janjgir, various artefacts of Bastaria Art, delicious millet food products, handicrafts, and other decorative items drew the most attention. The women organised a sale and exhibition of materials in their group’s products through 64 stalls in this shanty.
District President of Korea Federation, Mrs. Neelima Chaturvedi, stated that the federation works with 15,000 women self-help groups. The Federation has over 1.50 lakh women members. Every group earns between 50,000 and 1 lakh rupees per month.
She stated that the group’s pickles, papad, chips, poha, murra, laddu, chutney, cookies, namkeen, and biscuit are served in women’s hostels, and mid-day meals. Her Federation has received the President and Minimata awards. Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, she stated that she is confident in the sale of the group’s products because all of them are easily available in the market through C-Mart and sell quickly.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Bhagbai Banjare of Sanyam self-help group of Kathrimal village of Korba district says that the women of the group make four to five hundred bulbs in a day. They make 9 volt and 12 volt bulbs. The women of the group have been doing the work of making bulbs for the last 2 years. Every member earns four to five thousand rupees per month from this.
Prior to this, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district’s Nek women self-help group manufactures decorative items and Manihari items and sells them by setting up stalls in various locations. The group is unique in that there are 20 members who are all differently abled. The group’s women earn more than Rs.30,000 per month. According to Jashmita Bakhala of the Roshni Samridhi Sarguja Co-Committee Ambikapur, 9 people work together to make phenyl and washing powder. Every member earns between Rs. 2 and Rs. 2.5 thousand rupees per month.
