Raipur, 22 December 2022/ Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari heaped praise on the decision of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel to use cow dung paint for government buildings. He welcomed the decision terming it as ‘praiseworthy’.
The Union Minister took to Twitter on Thursday and said “I congratulate the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri Bhupesh Baghel ji for giving instructions to the officials pushing the use of natural paint made from cow dung in government departmental construction works. His decision is praiseworthy and worth welcoming.
Meanwhile, the first-of-its-kind scheme ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’ started by Chhattisgarh Government led by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for environmental protection and strengthening the rural economy is being appreciated across the country. Natural paint made using cow dung is being manufactured in the state. In keeping with this spirit, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has instructed to compulsorily use cow dung paint to paint the buildings of all government departments, offices, corporations, and local bodies.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel also sent out his thank you message through Twitter which read it is only with good intentions that the country and the state become an inspiration for others. Chhattisgarh is moving ahead on the path shown by Gandhi ji, honoring ‘Godhan’ and labour.
The Prime Minister himself and many Union Ministers have heaped praises on this scheme of the Chhattisgarh Government on many forums. In addition, this ambitious scheme has also received many awards at the national level. The scheme is also being studied by other states.
It is worth mentioning that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions earlier as well to compulsorily use cow dung paint for government buildings. Expressing displeasure over the use of chemical paint by the construction departments despite the instructions issued earlier, the Chief Minister said that action would be taken against the responsible officers who don’t follow the instructions.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel has asked the Chief Secretary to issue instructions to all departments, corporations, and local bodies to compulsorily use cow dung paint for painting government buildings. Shri Baghel has said that the use of cow dung paint is crucial for strengthening the rural economy and environmental protection.
