Reminisced memorable memories of school days

Raipur 18 September 2022/ Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday met his former classmate during his visit to village Belaudi falling under the Gunderdehi assembly constituency as a part of his ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister visited the house of the local Sarpanch to express condolences over the demise of his son Late Shri Bhupendra Sarthi. Here he met his former classmate and retired teacher Shri Ganguram Sahu. “Ganguram, How come are you here? Your home village is Godhiyari (Patan) right?”, asked Mr. Baghel.

Shri Sahu replied that after his retirement he is now staying in his in-laws’ house in village Belaudi. Mr. Baghel spent some time with his former classmate and took a trip back to school times, reminiscing the school days. “I don’t have words to describe how I felt. A long time has passed but to my surprise, he still remembers his school days even after his hectic daily schedule as a head of the state. He is a down-to-earth person who still remembers the names of his classmates”, said Shri Sahu.

He added that he rendered his services as a teacher in the same school (Middle/Higher Secondary School Marra) where he studied. Chief Minister patted him on the shoulder and said that he already knew this.

Describing the personality of Mr. Baghel during his school days, 63-year-old Shri Ganguram Sahu said “The Chief Minister was his classmate from class VI to XII in Government Middle School and High School Marra. He was not only a meritorious student but was also vocal about his rights as he was the President of the school union in high school. Perhaps the foundation of his excellent leadership skills was laid during his school days.”
