The state government launched the Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Sahayata Yojana under Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board of the Labour Department to provide financial aid to labourer’s daughters for education, employment, self-employment and their marriage. So far, 8262 daughters of construction workers have benefitted under the Mukhyamantri Noni Sashaktikaran Sahayata Yojana. Under this scheme, Rs.16 crore 52 lakh 40 thousand have been transferred to the accounts of the daughters of the labourers.
Under the scheme, financial aid of Rs. 20 thousand each is directly transferred to the daughters of eligible labourers. These benefits are provided to only the first two daughters of the eligible labourer family.
Labour department officials said that under Chief Minister Noni Sashaktikaran Yojana 219 daughters in Gariyaband district have received financial aid in their bank account, 31 in Kondagaon, 594 in Raigarh, 73 in Janjgir-Champa, 02 in Surguja, 484 in Bemetara, 975 in Kawardha, 54 in Dantewada, Mungeli 135, 667 in Balodabazar, 05 in Bastar, 14 in Jashpur, 272 in Rajnandgaon, 11 in Balrampur, 13 in Narayanpur, 760 in Durg, 66 in Balod, 23 in Korea, 11 in Gaurela Pendra Marwahi, 397 in Bilaspur, 455 in Mahasamund, 384 in Surajpur, 99 in Kanker, 2456 in Raipur and 62 in Dhamtari.
Officials said that this scheme is only applicable to those workers who have completed one year of registration. Only the first two daughters of a construction worker whose age is from 18 to 21 years and unmarried are eligible under this scheme. Besides this, the daughter of a registered construction worker should have passed at least the 10th standard and not taken the benefit of Minimata Kanya Vivah Yojna. The application process under this scheme has been started online on the departmental portal of the Labor Department, under which the workers can submit online applications themselves or through the labour office of the concerned jurisdiction or the nearest Public Service Center, Choice Center.
