During the national-level GATE examination, the police received credible information that certain individuals had planned to facilitate cheating by providing unfair assistance to candidates through electronic devices. Considering the seriousness of the information, immediate action was taken under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Shri Sandeep Patel(IPS), A joint team of DD Nagar Police Station and ACCU Raipur was constituted.

The police team maintained discreet surveillance around the examination centre. While monitoring suspicious activities near the examination centre (ION Digital Zone, Sarona), the team noticed a few individuals in suspicious circumstances carrying electronic devices. Upon interrogation and search, devices used for facilitating cheating were recovered, after which all suspects were detained for questioning.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed the names of their associates who were appearing for the examination inside the centre. After coordinating with the examination authorities and conducting searches of the suspected candidates, concealed Bluetooth electronic devices were recovered from them.
