Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the construction works for the Ram Van Gaman Tourism Circuit and participated in the Champaran Ramayana Festival at Champaran in Raipur district on August 29.
In the vibrant celebration, the inauguration program was held on the premises of Shri Champeshwar Mahadev Temple, and the grand Ramayana Mahotsav of Champaran was held at Government School, Daganiya village. The event featured captivating cultural performances, including a collective recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa by the district-level winner Manas Mandali, a soul-stirring Ram Bhajan by Mr. Prabhanjay Chaturvedi of Bhilai, and a mesmerising performance by Ms. Shanmukh Priya of Mumbai.
Addressing the gathering in Champaran, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel highlighted the ongoing construction of Chhattisgarh’s Ram Van Gaman tourism circuit. He shared that the majestic statue of Lord Shri Ram has been established in Chandrakhuri, followed by a second in Shivrinarayan and a third in Rajiv Lochan. He unveiled the fourth statue of Lord Shri Ram in Champaran, a significant place of Champeshwar Mahadev. The Chief Minister also expressed his privilege in attending the worship of the Champeshwar Mahadev. He also declared that the Champeshwar Mahadev Temple Trust would manage a cafeteria based on a no-profit, no-loss policy.
He highlighted the significance of Champaran as Lord Vallabhacharya’s manifestation site, which has gained immense recognition even internationally. He shared that the state government will develop this site as a tourist spot and that efforts will be made to preserve its rich heritage. The state government has taken various initiatives, such as BADAL, to safeguard the indigenous traditions of tribals and restore their Ghotul. A national tribal dance festival has attracted global participation, showcasing the area’s splendid cultural wealth.
The Chief Minister highlighted the unique Ramayana Mahotsav, a first in the nation, expressing a belief in divinity’s omnipresence. He shared the state’s condition during the pandemic and emphasised the continuous support provided by the state government to the farmers and citizens of the state. He greeted the people of Chhattisgarh at the Rakhi festival and reiterated the state government’s commitment to serving every individual.
MLA Mr. Dhanendra Sahu shared that the Chief Minister has initiated work to transform the path followed by Lord Shri Ram in Chhattisgarh into the Ram Van Gaman Path. He further shared that the Champaran holds the status of Panchkoshi Dham, and various development projects are underway. He also highlighted the substantial developmental projects dedicated by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel to Champaran, contributing to its growth and progress.
Culture Minister Mr. Amarjit Bhagat, Lok Sabha MP Mr. Deepak Baij, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mr. Atal Srivastava, Chairman of Gau Seva Aayog Rajshree Dr. Mahant Ram Sundar Das, and Chairman of State Industrial Development Corporation Mr. Nand Kumar Sai were present.
