Raipur 08 January 2022 / The newly elected Bhilai Municipal Corporation office bearers including the Mayor and Chairman took charge of their office on Saturday. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the programme.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said in his address “people have given you the opportunity to fulfill the dreams you have dreamt about the development of the municipal corporation. You all have to work on war footing to turn these dreams into reality and fulfill promises made to the public.”

Congratulating the Mayor Mr. Neeraj Pal on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the way Neeraj has worked for the development in Sector 5 area is commendable. “Shaheed-e-Azam” park has been built here in the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh which is eye-pleasing. Beautiful work has been done here to preserve the memories of great men. He said that the Neeraj’s vision will help Bhilai reach new heights of development.

The Chief Minister added that the Mayor and the representatives should also focus on rapid development in the areas like Kosa Nagar, Radhika Nagar and HUDCO.

“Our government is moving ahead on the path of inclusive development, prioritizing development of urban areas along with rural areas. I have a clear belief that our rural economy is like the roots of a tree, and when we water the roots, the tree will also grow. A large amount of money has reached the market through loan waiver scheme, Rajiv Gandhi Nyay Yojana, and Godhan Nyay Yojana, due to which the urban economy also flourished”, said Chief Minister on the occasion.

He added that this time over 66 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured so far which is likely to exceed one crore metric tonnes. In this way Rs 25000 crore will come in the market which will in turn benefit the urban economy. Good work has been done in the field of healthcare in urban areas through mobile medical units, Dai-Didi clinics. The corporation staff has also done commendable work in the control of infectious diseases like corona. The health infrastructure created by the government for the control of Corona proved to be effective. A solid foundation is being laid in the field of education through Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School, Chief Minister said.

Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu said in his address that the public has provided a good opportunity to all of you to work. Best schemes of urban development are being run in the state under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Forest Minister and Minister in-charge of Durg district Mr. Mohammad Akbar in his address said that the citizens are appreciating the development works that have been done under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in three years, the results of which can be seen in the results of election of urban bodies.

On this occasion, Mayor Mr. Neeraj Pal in his address said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has given a big responsibility and has expressed confidence. I will try my best to live up to this trust. Chairman Mr. Girwar Sahu also expressed his gratitude.

On this occasion, MLA Mr. Devendra Yadav, MLA Mr. Arun Vora, Chairman of Mineral Development Corporation Mr. Girish Devangan, Durg Mayor Mr. Dheeraj Bakliwal, former MLA Mr. Pradeep Choubey, Vice-Chairman of Antyavasai Corporation Smt. Neeta Lodhi, Chairman of Mandi Board Mr. Ashwini Sahu, Chairman of Co-operative Bank Mr. Jawahar Verma were present. Collector Durg Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, SSP Mr. Badri Narayan Meena and Municipal Commissioner Mr. Prakash Sarve were also present on this occasion.
