National Tribal Music Fest to be organized in Bastar every year, on the lines of National Tribal Festival

Raipur, 26 May 2022/ At Adivasi Sammelan held in Jagdalpur today, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel made several important accouncements for the development of Bastar as per the expectations and demands of local public representatives and local community. Chief Minister sanctioned 4 acres of land and an amount of Rs one crore to Bhatra Samaj for construction of a community building. Chief Minister has approved recognition of BADAL as college affiliated to Khairagarh Music University, an amount of Rs 10 crore 42 lakh for construction of a hostel of 150-seat capacity at Gyangudi for tribal students, besides the sanctioned amount for organizing cultural programs in BADAL has been increased from Rs.25 lakh to Rs.1 crore.
On this occasion, Chief Minister also announced that the National Tribal Music Festival will be organized every year in Bastar on the lines of National Tribal Festival. He said that representatives of various tribal communities will be included in advisory committee of Amcho Bastar Heritage Society and this society would be given recognition by the government, and various tribal craftsmen, artisans and artists of all the districts of Bastar division would be connected with BADAL. He announced that a research center would be set up under Bastar University to conduct research on tribal art, culture and traditions and to establish a life size statue of martyr Veer Jhara-Sirha in Sirha Bhawan.
While addressing the tribal convention (Adivasi Sammelan), Chief Minister said that our government is continuously moving ahead with our valuable resources of trust, development and security. We have returned the land acquired from the farmers in Lohandiguda. 65 types of minor forest produce are being procured on support price and value addition work has also been started for the financial betterment of forest dwellers.
Chief Minister further said that besides waiving off the loans of farmers and procuring paddy at the highest price, Government has provided employment to local youth through mini PSCs. PESA law is already in force in Chhattisgarh, while the rules of PESA law will be approved in the upcoming cabinet.
Chief Minister said that our government’s endeavour is to ensure availability of community buildings for all the communities. The communities that do not have buildings, would be allocated land/building soon. Our government is making sincere efforts to save the culture and traditions of Bastar. Establishment of Devgudi has been announced in every Gram Panchayat. BADAL has been established to preserve the identity of Bastar. Folk art, songs, dances are being scripted and digitized here for the coming generations. On this occasion, Minister in-charge of the district Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, MP Mr. Deepak Baij, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Rekhchand Jain, President of Bastar Development Authority Mr. Lakheshwar Baghel were present, along with other public representatives and a large number of people of tribal communities.
