Initiative to pay tribute to the hardworking laborer’s and their staple nutritional breakfast of ‘Borey Baasi’
Inspired by the appeal of the Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh Hotel and Restaurant Association will feed ‘Borey Basi’ to their employees on Labor Day
Raipur 29 April 2022 /In a bid to pay tribute to Chhattisgarh’s unique culinary tradition of Borey Baasi ,Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has appealed all the Chhattisgarhi residents to consume this staple meal on the occasion of Labor day. Borey Baasi is a staple breakfast consumed by labors, farmers and the general populace, because of its high nutritional content and pro health properties. Borey Basi is made by soaking leftover rice in water and keeping it overnight. In the morning, it is eaten with tomato chutney or pickle and raw onion after adding a little salt. People of Chhattisgarh usually consume this breakfast in the morning. Eating baasi does not only provides relief from heat but also keeps BP under control and also prevents de hydration in summers.
On the appeal of the Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh’s MPs, MLAs, public representatives and young generation will also express their love and pride towards their food and culture in the country by eating baasi and will post pictures-videos on social media, along with the hashtag #LabourDay2022 #BoreyBaasi and #cgmodel.
Along with this, Chhattisgarh Hotel and Restaurant Association has written a letter to the Chief Minister, congratulating him on this endeavor. They have also pledged that on the coming May 01, on the occasion of Labor Day, for the respect of the employees whose hard work and devotion to duty strengthens their business. They will arrange Borey Baasi dishes for their relatives and companions. The association further expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister by saying,” You have done a wonderful job of nurturing our culture, heritage and tradition by associating local food with Chhattisgarhiya Samman”.
